In this new normal, what are the healthy morning rituals that you have been doing to start your day right? Needless to say, the current situation now has totally changed our daily routines – from work schemes to purchasing of basic needs down to leisure activities.

Nevertheless, we all know how important healthy morning rituals are in setting the tone for the rest of the day. So, instead of getting drained by email, work, and social media notifications early in the morning, it is best to take some time for yourself first and incorporate these routines to jumpstart your day.

Morning Rituals to Jumpstart Your Day

1. Sleep well.

To start your day right, the very first thing that you have to do is make sure that you have slept well. According to studies, the lack of sleep will not only make you feel grumpy the next morning, it can also lead to serious health problems like heart diseases, depression, and even increase risks of death.

For adults, getting that much-needed 7 – 9 hours of sleep at night may seem difficult especially if there are so many things to do. However, if you really want to stay physically and mentally fit, it is highly recommended to set out your priorities and give yourself the rest that you deserve.

2. Meditate.

One of the most important healthy morning rituals to start your day right is to set the tone of the day: by meditating. This practice has been long associated with various health benefits and is believed to remove accumulated stress, increase energy, and positively affect the overall health of an individual.1

There are various ways of how you can do your meditation. Don’t hesitate to try and find the method that would best resonate with you. Take the time to set your goals for the day. Remember that these goals need not be tasks – this could be as simple as taking a short walk, spending time with loved ones, or setting aside time for your personal needs.

3. Eat a healthy breakfast.

While it started as a marketing slogan, breakfast remains one of the most important meals of the day. Sadly though, it is also the most frequently skipped meal, most especially among adults.2

If you really want to start your day right, scientific studies suggest that you should eat a healthy breakfast as this has been to a greater intake of nutrients that you would be needing for the day. In addition, breakfast has also been associated with better body weight control and improvement of attention and cognitive function.3

Dieticians highly recommend to stay away from high-sugar, high-fat breakfast. Instead, you can opt for a much healthier choice like oatmeal, a low-fat breakfast sandwich, or greens superfood that is made from energy-rich vegetables, cereal grasses, and sea algae.

4. Add a superfood green smoothie.

Did you know that only one in ten adults get the recommended fruit and vegetable serving by the USDA? Aside from the hassle of purchasing and preparing the ingredients, it is also time-consuming. This is the reason why most people prefer to just have a superfood green smoothie, like pHresh greens® that is known to provide 3 – 4 servings of raw greens in just one teaspoon. Needless to say, this organic green superfood powder is very convenient and also one of the easiest ways to alkalize your body.
