Logarithmic pH Scale

The pH scale is logarithmic, essentially meaning the difference in 1 pH unit is 10 times!

A change on the pH scale of 1.0 pH unit indicates that hydrogen ion activity differs by orders of magnitude (i.e., the factor of 10). For example, hydrogen ion activity at pH 4 is 10 times greater than at pH 5.
