If you are overly acidic, you may feel low energy…find it difficult to lose weight…experience poor digestion…suffer from aches and pains…and even fall victim to more serious disorders.
In fact, since acid is naturally corrosive and inflammatory, it irritates the organs it comes in contact with. That’s why too much acid can contribute to the demineralization of your bones, teeth, and joints, and has a negative impact on your urinary and gastrointestinal tracts.
Just like a pool or a fish tank it’s beneficial to test the pH of the water so we can take the proper measures to optimize the conditions. If the fish are swimming around in acidic water, it will become dirty, oxygen will decrease and waste will stagnate. Same thing in a swimming pool. We wouldn’t want to swim around in that.
Our bodies are made up of mostly water, therefore an acidic environment makes the perfect breeding ground for micro-forms, which can further compromise your health.*
Because the reagents (the color squares) are affixed to a plastic strip, there’s no paper, no bleeding, and no mess. In fact, pHresh strips® pH test are the only test strips on the market that can pass through a urine stream without having the reagent bleed, making them exceptionally easy to read.*
Their two test color system have two squares using two different pH reagents. The top reagent is more sensitive to higher pH ranges (7.0 – 9.00) and the bottom reagent is more sensitive to lower pH ranges (4.5 – 6.75). This combination gives you an ideal reading of your pH level. Simply put, their two test color system effectively measure a narrow pH range of .25 pH increments, so you’ll know exactly what your pH is.*

pH is Logarithmic
pH doesn't work like regular numbers do, where 6.0 is "one point less" than 7.0. It works logarithmically, just like the Richter scale for earthquakes. That means for each point you drop away from the ideal of 7.0, you're actually experiencing a 10-fold decrease in your pH! For example, someone with a pH of 6.0 is ten times more acidic than someone with a pH of 7.0. Someone with a pH of 5.0 is 100 times more acidic than someone with a pH of 7.0. Fortunately, pHresh strips® pH Test Strips gives you an extremely precise reading of how acidic or alkaline your body tissues in .25 pH unit increments, so you'll know exactly what your pH is.*
FAQ
I'm not getting an exact color match on the pHresh strips® pH chart?
If you are not getting an exact match, this means you are testing in between ranges or you are testing at a more inaccurate time. If your strip isn't matching directly to the pHresh strips® pH chart, take the top color and match it with its closest color on the pH test strip.*
Will my saliva and urine test differ and why would they?
Yes, your saliva and urine tests will be different. Urine will always be about .25 more acidic than your saliva. The reason for the range difference is because more acids are excreted through the urinary system than they are through the mouth.*
Which test is more accurate, urine or saliva?
The urine test is more accurate than the saliva test.*
What if the pHresh strips® don't change color, is the pH strip defective?
No, you can check the effectiveness of the strip by squirting some glass cleaner (ammonia) directly onto the strip (be sure to avoid your eyes and face) or by checking your pH directly after swallowing a piece of bread.*
What if my pHresh strips® read an 8.0 pH, does this mean I need more acidic food?
No, you may have received an abnormal result, and you should do a few more pH tests to ensure this range is accurate. They recommend you test both your saliva and urine three times a day to get an average reading. If you seem to keep coming up with the same results, please contact a physician.*
Which side of the pHresh strips® should I use?
Use the side with the color indicators (reagent).*
Can I use the pHresh strips® to test water, foods or chemicals?
No, these strips are NOT intended for use with water, food, chemicals, or any other fluids other than directed.*
When should I test my pH and how often?
They recommend testing up to three times a day to get an average range. Once you have figured your average range, you may want to test at least once a day to make sure you are staying in the balance range. When testing saliva be sure to test at least 2 hours before or after eating for the most accurate results.*
Do pHresh strips® expire?
No, the pHresh strips® do not expire, however they recommend once opened use them within a 90 to 120 day period.*
How To Use
To Test Saliva
Wait 2 hours before or after eating, place saliva into a spoon, and dip the pHresh strips® into it. Wait 15 second, then compare your results to their pHresh strips® pH carts.
To Test Urine
Briefly place the pHresh strips® in the urine stream and shake off excess fluid. Wait 15 seconds ,then compare your results to their pHresh strips® pH chart. Urine is slightly more acidic than saliva, therefore subtract 0.25 from your chart number to get your final result. Test the first and second urine of the day to record the average reading.
